Weekly services pattern for our various churches can be seen on each Church page but do check our calendar too for the next services.

Most of our weekly services are followed by a time of fellowship with refreshments, all are welcome.  The following descriptions give you a flavour of what you may expect at our services.

Holy Communion,

  • Length of service – approximately 1 hour
  • Hymns - Usually 4 a mix of traditional and modern
  • Language – modern except where Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is used which is traditional language and usually a service without hymns.

Sung Eucharist,

  • Length of service – approximately 1 hour
  • Hymns - Usually 4, a mix of traditional and modern, sung responses with choir
  • Language – modern

Morning Praise

  • Usually lay led
  • Length of service – approximately 45 minutes
  • Hymns - Usually 5 or 6 hymns/songs a mix of traditional and modern
  • Language – modern
  • Sermon – short message/talk

Family Service

Celtic Worship

  • Length of service – approximately 30 minutes
  • Beautiful, gentle, prayerful end to the day
  • Songs, readings and prayers.

THE GAP

  • Length of service – approximately 45 minutes
  • Informal worship
  • Songs, prayers, readings
  • Food (cake!!) and fellowship

Prayer Meeting

  • Length of service - approximately an hour
  • Informal prayer
  • Fellowship

 

Most of our services follow the Church of England Common Worship style except where BCP is indicated which follows the traditional form of Book of Common Prayer.

Morning Praise and Family Services include material from New Patterns for Worship and is less formal.
