Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Luke 18.15

The Church of England has a long and successful history of involvement in education and schooling and Church of England schools have a distinctive identity and ethos, popular with parents and families. It where the development of social, spiritual and emotional intelligence is as important as academic achievement.

Our schools, here, are established primarily for the communities they are located in. They are inclusive and serve equally those who are of the Christian faith, those of other faiths and those with no faith.

And, of course, we are still concerned with our Schools and the staff and parents and children at our schools which are not nominated Church schools.

We can be found engaging with and among children in a variety of contexts because we want to:

Work towards every child and young person having a life-enhancing encounter with the Christian faith and the person of Jesus Christ

Recognise and welcome the capacity of children and young people to transform the Church and the world

Provide support and development for all those working with children and young people

We regularly attend our schools and welcome them to our Churches. It is especially good when we have so many families together in Church celebrating with the children at Christmas and Easter and Harvest, when we hold special services with them.

These are joyous ocassions with music and song, very often written by the children themselves, and always with prayers that they have done.

(R) Ashwicken School Children celebrate Christmas in Church and  (L) Gayton School children are ready for their Nativity play - a highlight of Christmas and the school year.

Below are Easter crosses made by pupils at Harpley school and displayed in Church with other examples of their Easter work.

Along with the Team Rector & Team Vicar, the Church has representatives on the governing bodies of our Church Schools and we are always so pleased to see happy children achieving and progressing in their lives.

You will be able to see more at our schools web sites.
