THANKSGIVING SERVICE

ST MARY, GT MASSINGHAM

Service of Thanksgiving and Blessing at St  Mary’s Church
Recently several projects that we have been working on
have come to fruition so it seemed right to celebrate and
thank God.

Wickes generously donated cupboards for our Food Bank and Robin Arbenz kindly installed them during our coldest winter months,
skilfully coping with uneven floors and curving walls. Many thanks to both.

A gift of a new Lectionary, given by the family in the memory of the late Rev’d Julian Thomson, was presented by Rev’d Michael Paddison to Stephen Hudson, Church Warden.  Both gifts were dedicated to the Glory of God.

Gifts and donations from the villagers have meant we now have the long awaited toilet . New paths are in the process of being laid, but flooding of the church ground has delayed this.  We also gave thanks for the work of the Food Bank team organised by Anna.  Also the volunteers who clean, tidy and polish the church weekly and our groundsmen who all work to keep our church looking beautiful. Thank you to everyone.

MAUNDY THURSDAY 28th MARCH

THE PILGRIM'S CROSS

The Northern Leg of Pilgrim Cross stopped at St Botolph’s Church, Grimston for lunch on Maundy Thursday on their way from

Keyworth in Nottinghamshire to Walsingham, walking approximately 120 miles over 7 days. It was lovely to welcome them.

On the occasion of Northern Leg of Pilgrim Cross’ 75th Anniversary, we pray:

Pilgrim God who walks with us, even when the road seems long and the ground hard beneath our feet, we give thanks for the journey.

For the songs and the silence, the tears and the laughter, the safe spaces to be who we are and for the encounters and community,

both fleeting and sustained, which remind us that we never walk alone.

We pray for all our onward journeys; for those we will walk together with, those where our paths will cross and those where our routes will diverge:

That wherever our pilgrim-paths through life lead us, we may know that we are held in the shadow of the cross,
in the light of the resurrection and in the loving hearts of one another.  Amen.
